I wonder how this version will go over. the stylisms are interesting when translated to live action, but will there be some backlash because of the choice to be literal to the designs by the mangaka?

I don't know. I think it could really go either way when it comes to that aspect... there's always a group who complain about a drama/movie being too literal and the other that it wasn't faithful to the source material. For me, it'll come down to how the actors deal with their characters (and the writers if we who don't understand Japanese manage to get subs for it).

If we get access to it, I'm willing to give it a chance, though I'm not holding my breath for greatness. I think it's going to have a hard time even coming close to the anime.

They look real pretty :D

:: sigh :: no Saitou in monk mode???

(I'm having trouble with fonts right now so I can't read the names)

Y'know, I don't even see Saito listed in the cast list linked on the official site. They SO cannot have written that character out!

Oh gods, the internet just got difficult... I'd read about this being possible now, but this is the first URL I've seen with kanji --- the official site is at http://新撰組peacemaker.jp/. The cast list is at http://ameblo.jp/shinsengumi-pm/

I have Japanese fonts installed and even set Japanese as auto-detect---then forced to view fonts in Japanese and firefox is not cooperating---lemme know if Saitou is on the list.

It would be interesting to see a LIVE ACTION PM SAITOU.
